It is situated in Sector - 5 near Biju Pattnaik Hockey Stadium and constructed in the year 1970, to promote the habit of sports, for the SAIL employees of Rourkela. Gradually the stadium encourage the outside meritorious students to take training. At present Rourkela Steel Plant  is encouraging the public for sports  and education. Hostel facility is also available. The students of  age group between fourteen and eighteen can only take the admission here.

The beautiful green gallery is very much attractive to the visitors. Mostly local and state level foot ball, hockey and other sports activity are being conducted. The stadium is always busy for the sports activities through out the year. The arrangement and facilities are being provided by Rourkela Steel Plant. It is very good sports field at Rourkela.
