Rourkela Institute of Management Studies (RIMS) established in the year 1984 under Sundargarh Professional Educational Society was first of its kind to concentrate on Management Education at the P.G. level in eastern part of India; at present imparting Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Computer Application (MCA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and since then RIMS has been striving for excellence.

QUALITY POLICY

After establishing Quality Management System (QMS) RIMS has proved it to be Centre of Excellence through its academic achievement. To its Credit, since last 9 years the MBA Department of RIMS has been awarded the gold medal from Sambalpur University for topping the University results.

The strength of RIMS lies in a team of 19 experience, dedicated, energetic, and well qualified faculties, who have imbibed research consultancy as top priority and resulting in quality education to the students. RIMS high end infrastructure spread across 5 acres of land supports central library, girls hostel, 2 computer laboratory, and faculty block and classrooms.

Students from around 20 states of the subcontinent take admission every year in MBA, MCA  and BBA through Management Admission Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA, JEE (MCA) BY BPUT, UMAT BY AIMA respectively, it has developed cosmopolitan culture in RIMS campus and gives wide choice of the recruiters.

It has succeeded in evolving a unique methodology of blending academic and industrial practicing manager to its teaching system, as a result professional bodies like Computer Society of India, Orissa Information Technology Society, National Institute of Personal Management, Institute of Directors, World Council for Corporate Governance, Lions Club, Centre for good living and other organizations like  Novell, Infinity and HP International Education Service, RSP-SAIL Nilachal Ispat Nigam Limited, Reliance Infocom, Sambad (Eastern Media Ltd., Careograph, New India Insurance, Customer and Ministry of Industry and Health (Government of Orissa) are associated with us.

RIMS has emerged as a society responsible institution contribution in various ways for the benefit of the society. It also has a consultancy Cell, Which caters to the need of local industry in terms of providing expert guidance by our experienced faculties. It contributes for the development of industries in and around the state. Through this association the faculties also remain observant about the recent developments in the practicing field.

The event management cell of RIMS conduct computer training for the senior citizen, World Elders Day, World Health Day, World Women Day, World AIDS Day, as a result it gives immense opportunity to the students to sharpen their managerial skill.
